How do I update my Windows phone software?

As time goes by and new bugs and features arise, Windows normally upgrade or update their software to add new features and fix bugs. These updates when available can easily be downloaded using Wi-Fi or data plan.
Before you download and install an update:
• Charge your phone as your phone will not be updated unless your phone has sufficient power.
• Ensure that you have enough storage space on your phone so that their will not be any interruption in the process. If while update is in process and you don’t have enough storage you will receive a prompt to go to Storage Sense to make room. How to download updates automatically on your Windows Phone
Windows allows you to automatically update your Windows Phone. To do this:
1. In the App list, tap Settings > Phone update.
2. Select the Automatically download updates if my data settings allow it check box.

How to check for updates manually
If you chose, you can also update your Windows Phone manually instead of automatic updates. To do this:
1. In the App list, tap Settings > Phone update.
2. Tap Check for updates.

Please note that Windows Phone will let you know when new updates are available. If you check manually for an expected update and your phone appears to be up to date, it may be that it isn’t available yet for your specific phone, mobile operator, or market.

o Tap Show details, and then tap Not now if you want to go back to Settings > Phone update later to install the update.
It usually takes 5 to 10 minutes to install an update; however, depending on the number of apps you’ve got installed on your phone it could take longer.
3. After your phone restarts, wait for it to migrate your settings, and then tap Done to finish the update.
