Does this scenario sounds familiar to you, you are rushing to get to the airport and convince that you have packed everything in your luggage, only to later found out that you have left something that you really needed for an important function, meeting or even your cellphone. This might not be you but countless thousands of people around the world most times forget something when traveling, perhaps its the anxiety of what they are about to do or probably they are just that kind of person who always forget things.
That’s what Packing Pro is here for, to remind you of every little details so that you will not forget anything on your next trip, your very life could depend on this very app. If I had written a packing list many times when I travel or had an app to help me prep my trip, such as Packing Pro (for iPhone) ($2.99), chances are I would not forget things most times.
Now you might be thinking that paying $3 for an app that reminds me to pack my toothpaste, towels, socks or medication, sunscreen, etc. seems frivolous even to someone but for some, however, it might be the very specificity of the reminders in this indie app that make it worth the modest cost.
Checklist Planning and Packing
The whole purpose of Packing Pro is to help you pack, and that’s just about all it’s designed to do. You work from a sample list of items to pack or create your own and tick off items as they go into your luggage.
The app doesn’t only offer packing service but also has a handful of other reminders too, like booking reservations and watering the plants before you leave home, which you can save into checklists to guide your harried soul while you’re running around your apartment like a chicken with its head cut off worried that you’ll miss your flight if you dally a moment longer.
How does it work
You create packing lists in the app either from scratch or from various built-in templates. The app has many options to chose from in creating your list so you’re never really working from scratch—from pre-trip tasks like “take out garbage” to “money belt,” “binoculars,” and “sterile dressings.” The choices may be overwhelming but you will appreciate what the app is trying to do so you can have a memorable trip.
What may tick many persons off is that Packing Pro has too many alerts. For example for each item you add to your list you will get a pop-up notification indicating that those items were added successfully. This can get really annoying after awhile.
If you are someone who often forget things or just want to make sure you pack everything you will need while traveling then I would recommend you going out and getting this app.
I do agree that this app is a bit very costly and could have sold for a lower price like $0.99, but if you are someone who travels a lot then I do recommend you get this app. Many of us forget things at times which something’s cost us a lot more than $3 to replace.
