Tips & Tricks on How to fix iOS battery life problems

One major complaint of users who have switch to IOS 8 is that of battery problems. This seems to be a widespread issue; however, if you are one of those persons who are having this problem, they are some steps you can take. Here are some tips and tricks to save you some well needed battery life on your IOS device:

1. Turn off background Apps, Location Services & App Notification Refresh
Apple has allowed IOS users to have apps running in background, location services and push notifications, while these are all good services, they do run down your battery. The fact of the matter is that anything that is running in background whether it is your IPhone, IPad, or IPod, they uses up your battery.

  • To disable Background App Refresh go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh > and turn it off for apps like Facebook or other apps that don’t absolutely need to be updated all the time. I am sure you don’t need to have apps
  • To Turn Off Location Services go to Settings, Privacy, Location Services, and turn off any app and system service you really don’t need tracking or using your location.
  • To Turn off Push Notifications,go to Settings, Notifications, and turn off any app you don’t really want any alert from.
  • 2. Simple Power-saving Tips
They are some simple things that you can do to save battery from running down quickly, things that we don’t normally think about. Some of these are:

  • Disabling Wi-Fi and Bluetooth when not in user
  • Reducing screen brightness
  • Put device on standby or sleep mode
  • Use headphones instead of the speaker if you have to listen to audio or music
  • Set Auto-Lock to 1 minute
  • 3. Check for emails manually (i.e. when I load the app) instead of letting the app push emails to you each time you receive a new email (i.e. turning off PUSH). To do so, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data, toggle Push at the top to Off, and then set Fetch to Manually.

I hope that these tips and tricks will help you to save your battery life from running down quickly. Please subscribe to our blog, share this article and others with your social media friends. Have something to say? please let us know by leaving a comment.
