Apple mobile payment system, Apple Pay, was recently released and already it is receiving a lot of support. According to Apple CEO Tim Cook at the WSJ.D conference said within 3 days after released of Apple Pay it had over 1 million activations and is now more widely used than any competing payment system.
According to report by Pantagraph.com, Tim Cook boasted that “We’re already No. 1. We’re more than the total of the other guys, and we’ve only been at it a week.” He said Visa and MasterCard officials have told Apple that the Apple Pay system is already seeing more use than similar “contactless” methods of paying for purchases.”
Apple Pay was released last week and has been receiving a lot of support from banks, retailers and consumers alike. According to a recent poll, 33% of those polled said that they have used Apple Pay and likes the ease of making payments. Apple Pay allows consumers to conduct transactions at participating at over 220,000 retail locations in the US quickly and securely without the use of bank cards or cash by using their iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2.
Tim Cook said that Apple Pay privacy feature is one of the biggest differences between Apple Pay and its competitors, “We don’t want to know what you buy. We’re not Big Brother; we’ll leave that to other people” According to report by Pantagraph.com.
